GENERAL TERMS:

These terms shall apply to all users and visitors of our website. By using our website you agree to these terms. You will not reproduce any content found on our website including, but not limited to, text, images, videos or downloaded files without prior written consent. We will not be responsible for any claims, losses or liabilities which may arise when using this site or any other site which we link to. We are not responsible for content shown on any other site we link to.

GENERAL TERMS:

These terms shall apply to the hirer and/or driver of our horsebox. Our contract begins when you pay the deposit or the full hire cost, whichever is first. If the driver differs from the hirer, both must agree and sign these terms.

(“You/Your” = “Driver”/”Hirer” as applicable)

You confirm you are eligible to hire/drive the horsebox by meeting the criteria stated below:

  • You are aged 21-75.

  • You have had a full UK/EU driving license for at least 2 years.

  • You have not been convicted of an offence in connection with the driving of a motor vehicle or motorcycle within the past 5 years.

  • You have not had your driving license suspended or endorsed with more than 6 penalty points within the past 5 years.

  • You have adequate equine insurance for your horse.

You will:

  • Agree to this Terms and Conditions.

  • Complete the required proposal form and identify form truthfully to the best of your knowledge.

  • Take reasonable care to look after the horsebox.

  • Follow the Highway Code.

  • Be responsible for:

    • any damage caused inside or outside the horsebox caused by you or your horse.

    • any motoring convictions e.g. speeding.

    • all fines incurred during the hire period, including but not limited to parking fines, overweight etc.

    • confirming you are not overloading the horsebox/ any excess weight fine/charge.

    • toll and traffic zone charges.

  • Collect the horsebox no later than 15 minutes of the agreed time or lose the booking and the monies paid.

  • Return the horsebox within the agreed time or else pay a late fee of £25 per hour.

  • Ensure you have adequate equine insurance (our horsebox insurance covers the vehicle but not the horse).

  • Use the partitions correctly and safely.

  • Pay:

    • in full at time of booking, (of which at least 50% is non-refundable should you cancel for any reason).

    • a £500 excess charge if there is an insurance claim.

 

You will not:

  • Smoke in the horsebox.

  • Leave rubbish in the horsebox.

  • Remove any furniture or fixings etc from the horsebox.

  • Sublet/rent/re-hire the horsebox.

  • Drive more than 300 miles per day.

  • Take the horsebox outside the UK.

  • Carry goods of an explosive, dangerous or hazardous nature.

PAYMENT:
You can make a booking enquiry/reservation request online or via any other communication channel such as Facebook, email, or telephone. The booking is not confirmed until we have received your completed hirer forms, acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and your payment, (at least 50% of your payment is non-refundable should you cancel for any reason). Payment methods we accept are major payment cards online, PayPal or bank transfer.

SECURITY DEPOSIT:

Before you drive away, we require a security deposit of £150. This payment can be made via bank transfer, cash, or PayPal. When the horsebox is returned un-damaged this £150 will be refunded. If the horsebox is returned damaged, we request the right to keep the £150 and request further payment from you up to £500 to cover the insurance excess.

FORMS:
Each hirer/driver will need to complete the proposal form and the identity form. We will supply you these forms with your booking acknowledgement email. You can complete the forms online (recommended) or as pdf files. Depending on the answers you give on the proposal form, you may be asked to supply more information and complete a more detailed proposal form. This is a requirement from our insurance company. We will advise you on this if required.

BREAKDOWN:

Breakdown cover is included. Our breakdown membership provides cover in the unlikely event of our horsebox breakdown, including the recovery of horses, alternative transport, and recovery of the horsebox. However, the breakdown cover does not include accidents. Our breakdown partner is EqRS. EqRS are always happy to help and never leave horses/owners in need should they be required to assist. If because of an accident being fully/partly your fault, or a hit and run incident and costs cannot be recovered against the responsible Third Party Vehicle’s Insurers then you will be responsible for the costs incurred as well as the £500 damage excess.

 

COLLECTION & RETURNS:

  • You will collect the horsebox no later than 15 minutes of the agreed time or lose the booking and monies paid.

  • You will allow 10-15 mins at collection and return to complete a “check out/check in” sheet (fuel, mileage etc).

  • Occasionally the return “check in” sheet will be completed by us the day after you return if we cannot meet you when you return.

  • You will return the horsebox within the agreed time or else pay a late fee of £25 per hour.

  • You can leave your car when you pickup the horsebox however we accept no responsibility for any loss or damage, it is left at your own risk.

 

​CANCELLATIONS:

We understand that circumstances beyond our control occur so we will always try to be flexible should you need to cancel and rearrange. However, due to the admin costs we need to operate a strict cancellation policy as set out below if this is not achievable.

  • You will inform us immediately if you need to cancel so we can rehire the horsebox during the hire period.

  • We will refund 50% of your booking payment if you cancel 7 days or more before the hire date.

  • If you cancel less than 7 days before the hire date you will not be refunded any monies and will need to start a new booking for a new date if you want to rearrange.

  • If we need to cancel your booking, we will give you as much notice as possible and will refund you in full.

 

NOTE:

  • For special hiring deals, payment is expected in full on the date of booking and there are no refunds for special deals.

  • You are not able to transfer hire dates to another person.

  • The horsebox will not be made available to you until we have received in cleared funds all monies due and confirmed you are eligible to proceed with the hire.

  • If we leave complimentary food/horse treats, these are consumed by you or your horse at your risk. Be sure to read the ingredients for allergens or if in doubt do not touch them. If we leave treats and you do not want them let us know at time of collection and we will remove them.

  • The DVLA check code confirms to us what vehicles you can drive and any penalty points or disqualifications you have had. The code is valid for 21 days. If your hire date is beyond the 21 days range, you will need to provide us with one DVLA check code at the time of booking and a new check code before your hire date.

  • Your booking is not confirmed until we have received and approved the completed required forms, payment in full and a valid DVLA check code covering the dates of your hire.
