SELF DRIVE HORSEBOX FAQS
WHAT IS THE AGE RANGE?
Our Horsebox can be driven with a normal UK issued driving license from the ages of 21-75 with a minimum of 2 years experience.
HOW MUCH IS IT TO HIRE?
Prices start from £45. We will do our best to be affordable. Note that hire prices will depend on: length of hire, day of the week, Bank Holidays etc. Half Day weekday £45, Full Day weekday £65, Weekends & Bank Holidays £85.
WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM ME TO HIRE?
Payment in full (50% is non-refundable should you cancel).
Your agreement to the Hirer Terms & Conditions.
Completed Hirer Proposal form.
Completed Hirer Identity form including full UK driving license (photo of front & back) and 2 x proofs of address.
Valid DVLA check code, (from DVLA website).
Security deposit before you drive away.

CAN I PICK UP THE NIGHT BEFORE?
Yes, in most cases this is fine. We would need to know where the horsebox is going to be parked overnight and why.
CAN WE HAVE DIFFERENT DRIVERS?
Yes, there can be more than one driver. Note that each driver is required to complete the required forms and sign our terms and conditions.
HOW DO I PAY?
Pay online at the time of making your booking. We accept all major credit and debit cards plus payment via PayPal. You can also pay via bank transfer, contact us if you want to pay via bank transfer.
CAN I CANCEL MY BOOKING?
Yes. However if you cancel 7 days or more before your hire date you will lose 50% of your payment. If you cancel less than 7 days before your hire date you will not be refunded any monies and will need to start a new booking for a new date if you want to rearrange.
WHAT IS THE DVLA CHECK CODE?
The DVLA check code confirms to us what vehicles you can drive any penalty points or disqualifications you have had. You will need to apply for this code from the DVLA website. It is quick and easy. You need your driving licence number, national insurance number and your post code.
NOTE: The code is valid for 21 days. If you are booking far in advance, (which is recommended as we get booked quick), and the hire date is beyond the 21 days range you will need to provide us one DVLA check code at time of booking and another code before your hire date.
WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS?
To make a booking please use the online booking and payment system or contact us. Once you have made your booking we will email you with the terms to sign and the forms to complete. Be sure to answer the form questions correctly and supply correct proofs of address. Book now.
CAN I BOOK FOR TOMORROW?
Possibly, it depends on a few things. Contact us to find out. Normally at least 48 hours’ notice is required for bookings, however we will try to make an exception if you need the horsebox in an emergency.
WHAT IS THE SECURITY DEPOSIT?
Before you drive away we need to take a £150 security deposit from you and this will be refunded in full when you return the horsebox. It is our safe guard in case of any damage. Read our full Terms & Conditions for more information.
DOES THE LORRY HAVE LIVING/BED AREA?
Our horsebox does indeed come equipped with a small living area and additional space above the luton, which provides a comfortable sleeping area. You can bring your own camp beds/duvets etc. to make your stay even more pleasant.
WHAT ARE PROOFS OF ADDRESS?
We need any two items, dated within the last 90 days, from the following list:
Bank Statement
Gas/ Water/ Electricity Bill
Credit Card Statement
Council Tax Bill / Statement
Mortgage Statement
HMRC Tax Code Notice
Rent Book
HMRC Self Assessment “Notice to Complete a Tax Return”
Employment Pay Slip
Mobile Phone Contract Statement
You can omit, (block out), any sensitive financial information if you want providing we can see your name and address on the document.
CAN I BRING MY DOG?
Yes you can! We just request that your dog is well behaved and potty-trained!
